What's a portfolio without some spec work? Many years ago, I applied for a copywriting role with Sephora. Because I love fancy, fragrant products like makeup and skincare.

Did I get the job? Nope. But I decided to hold on to these direct response ads I designed and wrote as part of my interview process. This exercise was challenging and taught me a good thing or two about what makes good copy and what doesn't.
